A COMMITMENT TO PURPOSEFUL REPRESENTATION, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, AND PEOPLE-CENTERED LEADERSHIP


INTRODUCTION

I present myself to the good people of Kwande–Ushongo Federal Constituency with a clear vision, strong capacity, and an unshakable commitment to serve with integrity, courage, and competence. My aspiration is rooted in the desire to restore hope, create opportunities, and deliver practical solutions to the everyday challenges facing our communities.

Representation must go beyond presence in Abuja; it must translate into measurable development, effective legislation, and strong advocacy for our people. This manifesto outlines my blueprint for inclusive growth, security, empowerment, and sustainable progress.


1. YOUTH EMPOWERMENT THROUGH TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION

Our youths are our greatest asset. I will prioritize technology-driven empowerment to prepare them for the digital economy.

Key Commitments:

  • Establish Tech & Innovation Hubs across the constituency for ICT training, software development, digital marketing, and cybersecurity.
  • Facilitate federal partnerships and grants for youth-led startups and tech entrepreneurs.
  • Promote coding, robotics, and digital skills programs in secondary and tertiary institutions.
  • Support remote work opportunities by advocating for improved internet connectivity.
  • Create mentorship and internship linkages with national and international tech firms.

2. AGRICULTURE & MANUFACTURING FOR ECONOMIC PROSPERITY

Kwande–Ushongo is blessed with fertile land and hardworking farmers. Agriculture must move from subsistence to commercial scale.

Key Commitments:

  • Advocate for modern farming inputs, mechanization, and irrigation support.
  • Support the establishment of agro-processing and small-scale manufacturing hubs to reduce post-harvest losses.
  • Facilitate access to low-interest agricultural loans and insurance schemes.
  • Promote cooperative societies to enhance market access and bargaining power.
  • Encourage value-chain development in crops such as yam, rice, cassava, soybeans, and livestock.

3. CONSTITUENCY INFRASTRUCTURE: ROADS & BRIDGES

Infrastructure is the backbone of economic growth and social integration.

Key Commitments:

  • Advocate for the construction and rehabilitation of federal and rural access roads to ease transportation of goods and people.
  • Push for the completion and maintenance of critical bridges linking communities and markets.
  • Ensure infrastructure projects are people-focused, durable, and transparently executed.
  • Work with relevant agencies to prioritize Kwande–Ushongo in federal infrastructure budgets.

4. RURAL ELECTRIFICATION & CONSTANT POWER SUPPLY

Electricity is essential for development, security, education, and business.

Key Commitments:

  • Facilitate the provision and installation of active transformers in underserved communities.
  • Advocate for rural electrification projects, including solar and renewable energy solutions.
  • Support community-based power maintenance initiatives to ensure sustainability.
  • Promote electricity access for schools, health facilities, and small businesses.

5. HEALTHCARE: FUNCTIONAL & ACCESSIBLE SERVICES

Good healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege.

Key Commitments:

  • Ensure hospitals and clinics are fully functional, equipped, and adequately staffed.
  • Advocate for the upgrade of primary healthcare centers to meet federal standards.
  • Promote the enrollment of constituents in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
  • Support maternal and child healthcare programs.
  • Facilitate outreach programs for rural and hard-to-reach communities.

6. STRONG WOMEN EMPOWERMENT & SOCIAL INCLUSION

Women are critical drivers of family stability and economic growth.

Key Commitments:

  • Support women-focused empowerment programs in skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and access to finance.
  • Advocate for increased women participation in governance and decision-making.
  • Promote policies that protect women against violence, discrimination, and economic exclusion.
  • Support cooperative societies and grants for women-led enterprises.

7. ACCESS TO SAFE & POTABLE WATER

Access to clean and safe drinking water is essential for good health, productivity, and dignity.

Key Commitments:

  • Advocate for the drilling and rehabilitation of motorized boreholes and community water schemes across wards
  • Support solar-powered water projects to ensure sustainable and reliable water supply
  • Work with federal and state water agencies to extend safe water infrastructure to rural communities
  • Promote community ownership and maintenance structures to keep water facilities functional

8. SECURITY & COMMUNITY SAFETY

Security is non-negotiable and fundamental to development.

Key Commitments:

  • Advocate for increased security presence and intelligence-driven policing.
  • Support community policing and neighborhood watch initiatives.
  • Promote youth engagement to reduce crime and social vices.
  • Facilitate collaboration between traditional institutions, security agencies, and local authorities.

9. REVITALIZING EDUCATION FOR A STRONGER FUTURE

Education is the most powerful tool for transformation.

Key Commitments:

  • Advocate for the renovation and equipping of schools across the constituency.
  • Support teacher training, welfare, and motivation.
  • Promote scholarships, bursaries, and educational grants for indigent students.
  • Introduce digital learning tools and ICT education.
  • Encourage vocational and technical education for employability.

10. EFFECTIVE LEGISLATION & STRONG ADVOCACY

As your representative, my duty is to legislate, advocate, and attract development.

Legislative Focus:

  • Sponsor and influence bills that promote youth employment, education, security, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure people-centered laws that directly improve the welfare of constituents.
  • Provide regular feedback and accountability through constituency briefings.
  • Maintain open-door engagement with traditional rulers, youth groups, women groups, and professionals.
